Firstly, images have to be hosted somewhere on the internet. For that, there are quite a few options.
Free Picture Hosting Sites:
Flickr
Picasa
Photobucket
Paid Hosting Sites:
Smugmug $35 with referral coupon / year
Zenfolio USD40/year
Pbase
Or if you have an existing hosting site, that will also do.
Once you have a hosting account, upload the photos in to the account. Upon which you will be given a link to that photo. It will be in the form of a URL.
For example:
Click on insert image as shown in the diagram below:

A box will appear asking for the link to the image, paste the link to your photo in that box.
OR
You can just add the [IMG]http://www.nikonjin.com/images/nikonjinpostimage.jpg[/lMG] tags around the image link.
Ta-da! All done.
Please note: Try to keep the images to a maximum of 1024 pixels on the longest side of the image.
