I've recently wired up my camera electronics to trigger an event as the shutter is pressed . I call this 'superspeed photography' because unlike high-speed photography I no longer have to wait till dark and use the flash to light the image . I can now trigger an event with my D50 at 1/4000th sec and photograph it in the same action .

This spark was triggered by taking the picture and I managed to still capture it at 1/4000th sec .

I was playing around tonight and a water drop didn't do much when zapped

brown sugar looked a bit better

Then this poor unsuspecting fly wandered across the sugar and I simply couldn't resist pressing the shutter release .... this is the last millisecond of the fly's life
