Just a quick one today, the usual please, critique and comments!
D700 with 85/1.4 D. SB-600 on a chair to models left fired through my $2 umbrella.
She wasn't impressed with me asking her to pose. So only 3 shots.

Lovely photos!
#1 i like model's pose, suits her quite well and love the skin tone. Minor complain is the completely white sky at the top.
#2 Love the composition. but the colour saturation seems a bit too much so the model's skintone doesn't look as natural as #1. Also the flash power seems slightly too much.
#3 the foreground object doesn't really work for me. And the picture will probably be better with a tigher crop.
Thank you for your comments!

Good shots CTM
love the 1st shot~~~~
but why Obasan is grumpy.. did u argue with her when u take the shot? hahaha
Nice work
I think you could reduce the red tone slightly as they look a bit over saturated.
I like the DOF used.
The flash is a tag too strong for the last pic

Agree with you totally.

thanks!!

Can I be honest?
Is the best one from those 3. Why? Background and I dont mean DOF. Most of photograpers focus on subject more then on background. There woun't be beautiful paintings without nice background. In photography we need to set our model to the position rahter then just paint it. Try it, focus on background and your model will feel more comfortable and you will get much much much much better photos. Then there is only one little step it's call Light and it's sad but we will never master it till death but we can learn it and try to use it.
If you want my feedback on photos 2,3. 2 Nice placement of a model in composition and nice light - background you know. 3 that wood on front is failure, model should be placed more to the side "gold rule" and to much light hitting her.
You can see you got rather small umbrella light is to much focus you can try get a tri-grips like:
http://www.adorama.com/LSTGTFK.html You can get cheaper sets but this give you a LOT in terms of light shaping.
Cheers and good luck!
I like that reflector. I have the normal round one.
I didn't spend too much time setting anything up, it was shot on my balcony. You probably can tell from the face of the model (wife), she isn't very happy that I am making her a model. I need to find a proper model that won't get grumpy after 3 shots! haha.
Thanks for the comments though, when I get her in a good mood, will try to do another shoot!
