HI all,

One of my best friend is kind enough to lend me his 50mm F1.8 lens for me to use..

so i took it along with me to a very EXPENSIVE buffet which held at Langham Hotel Auckland.

i'm not too familiar with prime lens. first time i try it.

Environment is a bit low light, and with my poor skills, makes the shot wasn't so good.

comments are welcome so i can improve.

and a pic of myself

Thank you~~~
Not Bad as your first try. #5 is my favourite
But Remember to keep the horizon level when there is a sharp vertical or hozional line in the picture.
And The white balance seems a bit off as most of the pictures are quite yellow/red.
The shutter speed was way too low for most of the shots. It also says in the EXIF data that you shot in 'auto exposure' ?

#5 and #6 are my favorites.

What did you save the JPG as? Something doesn't look right.
Yellow: that's what my friend say to my camera. the white balance is a bit funny~~

CTM: i all shot at raw and adjust it.

I do notice the strange and funny about my photo. looking for any possible way to improve or correct it~

but anyhow. i need more practice to my shots..

i will keep working hard. thx for all the comments
i think what CTM mean by doesn't look right is.. the pictures look like they have gone thru some heavy noise reduction or medium filtering or some bad resampling. So looks a bit like a picture from your cellphone.
Wrong:

thx for your comment, all i did is adjust the contrast and brightness, and unsharp mask.

the rest i didn't touch much.

To all:

I do realised that the pics straight out from my camera is a bit Yellowish!

i have adjusted the white balance graph a bit. will take a few shot when i have chance and then post it up.

hope you guys could give me more comment later on.

Thank you very much
Why not just post up a control shot. Take a photo of something, eg your living room from a tripod and on timer. Then we can see what is wrong with your photo / camera.

You might have over-sharpened.
i heard they sometimes offer 2 for 1 at langham...^^
