hi everyone,
i'm thinking of switching to nikon and have some questions, hope someone can help me.

1. which nikon dslr's spot metering is linked to the active AF point?

2. which camera can take 1080p video? and

3. I tried a d3 the other day and the autofocus is simply amazing. So is there any camera has similar autofocus performance as the d3 but not as expensive?

thanks

smithgary
1) Sorry, I don't know.
2) D7000 can.
3) D700 is a cheaper alternative for same performance.

Welcome!
1. Every single Nikon DSLR can do it. Even the oldest entry model like D50 or D70 can do it

2. D3100 and D7000 and the soon to be released D5100 can do 1080HD with full time autofocus

3. D300, D300s, D700, D3, D3s, D3x all has the pretty much the same 51 point 3D tracking autofocus system. D7000's 39point 3D tracking AF system is almost just as good as well

oh great. i'm amazed that every nikon dslr even entry model can link AF point to spot metering. While my 5D Mk2 can't do that and i have to upgrade to 1 series to have this fundamental (i thought) feature.

looks like i will look at the d7000 or maybe d700 as i'm really unhappy with my 5D's poor autofocus system.
