What softbox(es) does everybody use?
I'm trying to find one that balances portability and its effect. When you travel around you don't wanna carry something that occupies too much space and takes 10 minutes to set up.
oh and the only thing i have used before was a shoot thru umbrella, I think about 100cm
I have 2 80cm speedlight softbox, something like this :

takes 2-3 minutes to setup, provides reasonably good diffusion at close range.
but the softbox (at least my one) is not really screwed/attached to the bracket, it's just sitting there holding by gravity.. not that good.
And also the bracket means i can only use 1 single speedlight.
so i haven't really use them much these days, just use the good old umbrellas.
faster to setup and have more flexibilty
I got a similar one but smaller I think 50cm? I think mine is too small to create any soft lighting
What is the minimum size you think to create soft lighting though?
With the 80cm one i have, i have to put it say within 2 meter to create soft lighting. Of course the closer the softer (and the little speedlight doesn't like it if you place too far away).
