have you guys got any "painful" photography story you want to share?
what i mean is something bad happened to your camera gear/photos/photo trip?
like your brand new camera dropped off a cliff? memory card with photos from your wedding ate by your dog? or things like that?
I have done a shoot once for a friend that visited. She hasn't been back since that trip. The memory card was formatted by accident. Shots all gone. So so sad.....

As far as hardware falling off tripods or dropping, none so far....
I don't have any really painful experience yet.
I heard of lots of stories like copy pictures from a important photoshoot to computer, format/delete all the card, then later on realise the pictures are not really copied successfully to the computer!!
Hope it'll never happen to me!

If you do this as business, buy a D3 or D3x, dual slots, you never know when you need a backup copy!

STIR STIR STIR....
I have got any really painful experience so far ... but i did format some of my memory cards before i copy them to my computer: I took some photos, put the camera to one side for a few weeks, then next time press the format key without checking what's in the card!! Lucky none of the photo i lost is too important
my painful experience was taking shots at a track day, suddenly memory card not functioning at all.... lucky didn't take alot of pic from that. so i quickly change another memory card then problem solve. lucky ~~
