In terms of image quality, there's barely a difference at all. In terms of build quality, although the Nikon D80 is still has a plastic body like the Nikon d60 and. The Nikon D80 is a little better, and more comfortable in hand. Also, it has a few more professional quirks. Nothing much more over the Nikon D60, other than size. If you want a significant difference, you'll have to look at the Nikon D90, which is much better than the two, and finally has a Magnesium Alloy Body.........

20 years ago I tried two cameras in a shop . The Canon couldn't focus properly on an aluminum box and the Nikon could - I couldn't afford either then . When digital came out there was the Canon 300D and the Nikon D70 with wireless flash control - I started with a D70 and haven't looked back .

I started out with a film SLR way back in high school. When it was time to get back into photography again, I was looking at the Canon 20D or 30D and the Nikon D200. To me the D200 offered me more features of the higher end cameras at a more reasonable price than the Canon's did. Also, I considered Nikon's library of lenses that the D200 was compatible with and finally what camera brand was named in the popular song "Kodachrome" by Paul Simon. Yeah... that's what made me buy Nikon over Canon. A pop song. LOL
