Hi guys it's Adam again !

I'm looking for ninja lens for street ! YEAH !
I was 99% sure I will go with af-s 35mm f1.8

But after checking in lightroom only 20% of my shoots come in that specific focal lenght.

Most coming from 50mm range around 60%..

So I started thinking about low light killer ninja uber lens 50mm 1.4G

What you think? Your in and outs please.

Other then that I hate the fact 35mm is DX becouse I can't see myself not having FX camera in next 3 years.

PS> I order cool strap Domke Gripper 1" it's so cool and so ninja! (I hope hehe)

Cheers and have a good day!
if you don't mind shooting in manual focus, try to find a nikkor 50mm f1.2 AIS, I played with one during the last trip back to hongkong, extremely nice bokeh. still gutted i chose the carl zeiss 35f2 over the nikkor.
There are lots of options of Manual Focus. Some are pretty cheap in comparison to the AF-S Nikons.

Carl Zeiss T* Planar 50/1.4
SMC Takumar 50/1.4
Nikkor 50/1.2 AI-S (the 85 rocks as well)
Leica Summilux 50/1.4

I owned both the Carl Zeiss and SMC Takumar. Great for their price! I have since sold the Car Zeiss.

I chose the 50/1.4 D over the AI-S 50/1.4 G because of a/f speed and price.

Yeah that Zeiss is sweet but extreamly expensive in Poland 2500zł vs 1400zł for af-s 1.4g

I love classic look of Zeiss ! If price would be the same I would go with Zeiss but af-s is good thing to have especially with f stop like 1.4-2.0

and 1.4d vs 1.4g almost same price here :/
If the price is the same, the 50/1.4g is what you should get (in my opinion). The sigma 50/1.4 is apparently real good too. Yellow15 has the 50/1.4g, see what he has to say. Smile

If you are still considering MF. hehe

depends what do you mean by street lens?
do you take mostly sneak picture of strangers on street? if that's the case, i say get the 70-300 VR (small enough to carry, don't draw too much attention and good zoom range)
or do you take photos more like landscape/buildings/objects that you can get very closely and can spend time to get the composition right and take the picture slowly? then i say 35mm either the new AFS DX or the old AF f/2.0 if you think you'll upgrade to FX in the near future.

I was 99% sure I will go with Olympus and seriously I still think it's AMAZING!

I wish that Nikon come up with something like Nikon FM2 with full frame. I hate that "new" look of dslr-s..
oh you mean Henri Cartier-Bresson kind of photos.. then i say a 50mm is probably good even on DX!

yes i like my 50mm 1.4G ... love the bokeh (but the newSigma is better! shame about the AF accuracy thou) and love the colour, only thing don't like is the slow AF speed. if you want to shoot action/sports it can be a problem.. but for the photos you want shoot it should be okay.

and i can't open the first link you posted above??

but yeah i like most of the olympus four third cameras...

and i know what you mean by hate the new look of dslrs.. haaa

i REALLY like the look of the "compact" classic SLRs, FM2, FE2.. i like them!!!

That new Pen is sell like a charm others need react becouse ppl just want that retro classic look.
