Hey guys,

A little background of my photographic history. I went to America late last year and ended up becoming a professional portrait photographer for Sharp Shooter Inc. USA. So begun my passion for photography. I haven't shot with a D-SLR until yesterday, when my new toy arrived.

Im. In. Love.

Now I finally acquired a Nikon D80 (wanted a D90 - but out of price range). These are some shots to get me back in action.

Lens' are 28-80 and 70-300 Tamron's respectively.

Enjoy.

Hi Matt.

I'm not ment to be rude but you need to learn things like "golden" rule.

Buy yourself a nice book. National Geographic got nice and cheap books !

Good luck on your passion !
Hi Matt, welcome!!

It must be a very happy man with your new toy!

The first (two) shot of the dog looks quite good. But since the main focus is just the dog and the background is not really that interesting, so I would suggest you get closer (or zoom more) and make the dog a bit bigger in the picture. Also one of the pole on the fence is almost directly behind the dog, it is something you should try to avoid if possible. (having said that, it happened to some of my recent photos too LOL)

The tree photo. I think you found a very interesting object to shoot, the texture of the tree is just beautiful. But the major problem (my opinion) of this photo is that the tree is right in the middle of the photo. putting the main object slightly off center t would normally help improve the composition. I am guessing that's what Sasim said about the "golden" rules.

but anyway, welcome!!! and have fun with your new toy!! (and remember to share some more photo with us)
hey welcome Matt!
i like the 3rd photo.
but yes the composition seems to be is a bit too centered. try to follow "The Rule of Thirds" a bit more and your photo will be even better! Smile

Sasim

Yeah that what I ment Smile

I love you guys :*
Nice shots! Smile
