Day 8 - Where's the fog?
When i woke up and look out from the window, everything was white. It was a very foggy morning. I thought it would be good to take a few photos of this foggy morning and decided to drive to the nearby Cornwall park. Unfortunately by the time i got there, the fog was all cleared so what was left to me was a bright sunny morning with a beautiful blue sky. So i have to change my plan and after walking around for a few minutes and i saw this beautiful Sakura (i think?) tree and took this photo. Shoot at wide open to throw almost everything out of focus. Custom White Balance to get the special colour tone i want.
JPG from camera and cropped about 10% off bottom right to get a better composition. no other editing.
Nice BOKEH and COLOURS! I like it!
Those sakura will blossom soon and they will also blow away in the wind shortly after the blossom!
Day 9 - Wasted
Don't have much to say about this photo. Underexposed 1/3EV and set the WB to cloudy to get the old, wasted feeling. The 50 1.4G lens has quite obvious vignetting problem when shoot at wide open and take advantage of this "fault" and shoot this photo at f/1.4 to get the vignetting effect. Straight JPG from camera.
I like it.
What is that suppose to be? Is it a open manhole?
No idea! I saw a duck drinking water from it.
Originally i was trying to take a picture of this water tank thingee with the duck. So i tried to walk slowly and sneakily towards there. Unfortunately the 50mm lens on a full frame camera means i have to get real close and by the time i was like 10 meters away, the duck noticed me and ran away
So this is what i got in the end.
Day 10 - Movie?
I was walking around in the town this morning. Saw this building. And i love the way how the morning sunlight strike on part of the building and part of the building was in shadow. It reminds me of those time lapse video clips i saw in countless movies (static camera angle showing a building from day to night or from sunny day to cloudy day within a few seconds). I metered in matrix mode and underexposed by 2/3EV to preserve the highlight details. Straight JPG from camera.
Some excellent shots there!
Day 11 - Friday Evening
It was 6pm, a wet friday evening. Everyone was rushing home to enjoy the coming weekend. This is at a roundabout near my home. I want to take a panning shot with the blurred street light and building light as the background. I took a few test shots. I was shooting at shutter priority and started with 1/8th sec which was a bit too slow. So I increased the shutter speed to about 1/15th second, took a few more shots. The photo just doesn't look good at all. I was thinking what should i do. I probably should increase the shutter speed a bit and try shoot from a different angle. But suddenly I saw this motorbike (how do you call it actually?) coming from the right. I didnt have time to change any settings and took this shot immediately. I can't say i'm very happy with it as the bike and the driver was not really sharp and i think the picture was underexposure slightly. But i really want to go home to see my little daughter so this has to be my photo of the day. imagine a few quick adjustment in photoshop probably can improve the photo quite a bit. But i don't really want to do it so this is just straight JPG from camera.
Nice try! Do you find that people you take photos of give you a funny look or stare at you as they go past?
For this photo.. probably not, they were all probably too busy driving so wouldn't really notice me?
