NikonJin - the 100% free Nikon Forums

Not really a new idea, I'll take and post 1 photo a day during the whole september. Many people have done somethign similar before. so this is just my time to give it a try:

September 2009
-I'll post up 1 photo i took on that day
-I'll only use my 50mm lens with my D700. with/without flash(es)
-I want to focus more on photography then postprocessing.. So i will try keep post processing at minimum level.
-I force myself to use 1 prime lens only so i can focus more on the image composition and photography techniques rather than camera gear. And since the 50mm lens will be my only friend this month, it'll hopefully allow myself to explore and understand the limits of this lens a bit more.
-No topics or other rules.. I may take a photo of my breakfast or my shoe or a photo of my friend. It can be anything. It's not a photo competition so nothing serious, just for fun.

btw, feel free to join me and start your own thread with your own rules.. if you are interested, you don't even have to start on the same day as me, you can just pick any date as your start day!

I know we can be quite busy sometime and won't even have time to take one photo during the day. But just try your best.
It's not a competition or anything.
I'm expecting i will post up quite a lot of boring photos during the month too, but hey at least setting this goal gives me a good motivation to take some different photos every day.

Its a great excuse / reason to use the camera! and improve skills! I have also joined the band wagon and started my own thread!

I can't believe it, it's only the 1st day and i nearly couldn't make it!!. JPG straight from camera. One remote flash from camera left with CTO gel

Love that tablet! Nice shot! Was the room lights on or off? Nice shot! CTO gel is green for fluorescent lighting, how did u get it all red?

great idea, i am away in taiwan having my wedding photos done atm. lucky i brough my camera with me so will be taking pics during my travel and upload all in once when i get back

Thanks. Only light on was the desktop lamp you see in the photo. + single remote flash
Instead of using the flash to light up the whole room evenly, i want to only light up the center of the photo especially the wacom tablet to get some vignetting effect. So I zoom the flash to 200mm and wrapped a piece of paper around the flash head to focus the light beam.
CTO is Colour Temperature Orange -> Orange gel. I set the camera WB to "flash" so the CTO gel makes the room very orange/redish and createsthe late night atmopshere.
