It's Canon's direct answer to D300s.. Comparing feature to feature.. it's very similar to D300s. 7D has better features in some areas (video, resolution) and D300s has better features in other areas (AF, flash).
It proves that there is a market for a professional level crop sensor camera that normal people can afford.
The only thing i don't like about it is the 18MP APS-C sensor. Why such a high MP on a crop sensor? Canon claims that they have a new better sensor design that improves the high ISO performance.. and can go up to ISO12800!!?? Well anyone can make the camera go up to ISO12800 but the quality of the picture at 12800 (or 6400) is something i'm very eager to find out and see if Canon has made a break though in the sensor design.

The noise images dont look too good. They look average. Break through, not quite if you ask me.
