Would you like photography as much if you were not able to
1) Talk about it online
2) Share pictures over the net
3) buy and sell second hand / new gear at shops and on the net
i really think photography is what it is due to computers and the internet.
What do you think?

Disagree.
Photography has been around way before computers.
Digital just made it much more accessible to everyone.
Other than that nothing's changed - a good photograph is still a good photograph whether it's on a 26'' Super LCD or Fuji print film.
I always like photography even before the internet days
But the internet definitely made it a lot easier to obtain new information, learn new techniques, and interact with other photographers, which gave me extra inspiration and motivation and made me want to take more and better photos..
#3 doesn't matter. i love buy new gear/toys.. the internet just made it easier for me to spend my $$$$ LOL
I hardly do much of the above. So no, I like photography just for the sake of taking awesome photos to keep forever
