I just received a D90 to add to the collection!

For the strobist: SB-28 to camera left a 1/2 power in to umbrella. SB600 @ 24mm.

Few extra bucks would have landed you a D300 - did you prefer to spend the difference on a lens?

I did think of that, but the wife preferred the size of the D90 as well as the HD video. Most functions she doesn't use, so a D300 would be a waste. The IQ between the 2 bodies are very similar.
I think there is a $300 US difference between the D300 and D90.
D300 also older than D90, i prefer D90 too. or go for D300s.

I understand if you prefer the D90 for its size, especially as a woman - makes perfect sense.
But to the above comment - I very much disagree - the d300 has many more weather seals, better metering, better focusing, as well as better preformance in low light. Just to mention a few.
Choice based on camera size and convinience - great.
Choice based on 'what's newer' - I question.
My 5 cents.
