Dear members

I am a person that love cars alot. even in my photography journey, i always take photo of cars, and the most interesting shots of the car is the RIG shots.

Taking a Rig shot is not hard as long as we have the right equipment. However, removing the Rig from the photo would be a bit of a nightmare as the suction cup and the Rig will be also captured into the photo. and. no doubt, the only method is using photoshop editing software to edit the Rig out. It maybe my photoshop skills is not good enough. so i always found it is difficult to edit the shop. i just wondering what kind of method is the best to edit the Rig Shots. and anyone mind to show the procedures of removing the Rig from the photo properly.

I have provide 2 photos here to let members have a tried.

this photo. one is retrieved from Photography on the net. another one is from Automotive Rigs.

would be nice all members could to try it out and share the experience.

Regards~

Just use the photoshop clone and stamp tools its the easiest way.

i have done many of rigshots myself, but at the end i found using a chase car gives much better result.

just a quick attempt on the sencond shot, only took me 30 secs

nice rig shots EGD!!!

sgtts: your sample photo is quite easy to remove as the pole and suction cup all stayed "outside" of the car body. if you have a badly designed/placed rig then it'll be a real nightmare to remove
EDG and CTM, thx for your efforts.. appreciated..

i only using the healing tools... that's why i feel complicate and difficult..

i will try to figure out the clone function, if i have any difficulty i will ask u guys again.

Thank you very much for your help~
cheers guys,

SGTTS, the clone tool is quite easy to use, just select the area you want to make the clone of and press the alt key + left click on your mouse on pc, and clone away with left click on your mouse.

the trick is to blow up the pic to at least 100% to see the detail, and set the hardness for the clone tool (if using 100% hardness, it will always leave obvious edge, so i normally reduce the hardness to around 60-70%)
EDG... i think i know who u are..... hahaha
