Hey guys
Just wondering if any of you are using this lense?
AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED
http://www.nikon.co.nz/productitem.php?p...32922b1581
After reading a few reviews online, most people seem to be very impressed with it.
What other options are there similar?
I am after a small wide angle lense for car photography and also photos of friends etc with some fish eye effect.
Thanks.
I have not tried it myself but i heard it's a pretty decent quality lens! Not cheap thou.
some other choices:
Sigma 10-20 (there are two versions, i read the old one has better optical quality)
Tokina 11-16 f/2.8
wrong, the 'new' Sigma 10-20 has constant f3.5 apperture and a 82mm filter.
In what respect is it worse to the old one?
RooDub, that Nikon lens is no pro-grade, so if budget is a consideration, do consider other alterntatives.
Always heard good things about the Sigma and would probably invest in one myself.
I use to own the Sigma 10-20 NON 3.5 version. The slower and older copy. I had it in Canon mount and it was a decent wide angle lens. Great for its price range.
Sigma 12-24 is another alternative. Tokina 11-16, Nikkor 14-24

The 14-24 is best. but price is not so cool and it's not that wide on a cropped sensor camera.
Tokina 11-16 is good!
For a cropped sensor, the Sigma 12-24 is not as good as the Sigma 10-20. It's bigger, heavier, more expensive, not as wide and picture quality is not any better than the Sigma 10-20. Get the Sigma 12-24 only if you are using or going to get a full frame camera soon.
yellow, those are great.
Is that the new 10-20?
thanks. that's with the old sigma 10-20mm
I have a lot of photos taken with this lens.. but most of them are buried under my old HDD so i'll need to spend some time to dig them out.
I love those kind of 'wide shots'
Been thinking about the new 10-20 a lot lately.
Will be my last Sigma probably anyway.
why "last" sigma?
are you not happy with your new lens?
any, some more photos took with the 10-20:

( sorry about the bad postprocessing

)
should have a lot more photos.. just need time to find them!!
