Hi Everyone..

I'm still learning to use my camera, but think I've outgrown my current lens. I currently have the 18-55mm lens that came with my camera, but am looking for something better for portraits and outdoor pics. I'm thinking about the Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF, but not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
You can't go wrong with the 50mm f/1.8D

but what camera are you using?? if you are using D40/60/3000 then you can't Autofocus with the 50/1.8
The 50mm f1.8D is a must in every bag Big Grin
What's your gear?
If you are using a DX camera, 50mm f/1.8 is definteily a good choice!!! As Arcspace said, it's a must have in everyone's bag (unless you already have the 1.4)

You can also consider the more expensive 85 1.8 which is a even better (but 3 times more expensive) portrait lens
If money is tight then I would get the 50mm 1.8. If you have a little more to spend, then I would recommend the 50mm 1.4. Not the new G version (way out of my price range). You can find the 50mm 1.4 for a reasonable price used.
