Wonder if it can compete with Tamron's 90?

Tamron street price is around $400US
Nikon's RRP is $530 but street price probably will be just under US$500?

Optics wise, almost all modern macro lens are great.
Nikon can't be worse than Tamron and it has SWM, VR and it's nikon so you can trust the quality.
Tamron on the other hand is a full frame lens.

Have to wait for reviews and street price to see how good is it compare with the FF macro lenses

I've been testing Mike's Nikon G Adapter and it works perfectly with my G DX lenses. You won't know exactly what stop you are on but you will have full manual control over the aperture. I highly recommend but be aware that most of the cheap G DX zooms cannot maintain perfect back focus throughout their zoom range, requiring manual focus adjustment after each zoom adjustment. This is due to the design of the lenses for still photography only.
