nice shot joseph, can definitely see the improvements.
i would recommend getting a cheap light stand, around $35 on trademe and a shoot through umbrella, it will make a huge difference for the detail shots you are doing.
here are my few simple tips for the stobes, in most condition including studio if you remember this you will get the lighting right.
1. always shoot in manual mode
2. shutter controls ambient
3. aperture controls flash/strobe
4. iso controls both
