I also have discrovered that my 50 f1.8 is sharper in its mid apperture range f2.8 - f9-10. Kind of makes sense, of course.
In good light, shooting wide open often means using the fastest shutter available 1/4000th - pics weren't always sharp at f2 for example.
Hmmm.. Still learning.
Children create some of the best subjects for candid pics because they usually get so involved & absorbed in the things they are doing that they won't even observe you there with a cam to capture photo of them.
