Thanks for the feedback Smile
Just curious, any reason you til the SB800 to the side and not upwards while using the bounce card?

To get the shadows in the right place . It always seems to look more professional when the shadows are to one side making it look like off-camera flash . If the flash head is straight up there will be stronger shadows under the chin area .
Many photographers take the flash off the camera and hold it out to the left in one hand and trigger it wirelessly - I'm trying to do it the easy way Smile
Of course it is a matter of preference and perhaps I should have included a comparison with straight up bounce flash as well .
Here are the pictures from the video : In the last picture look at the stronger shadow on the left side of the face [ camera right ] , I was wanting to achieve the ''off-camera flash '' effect .[ Also note the greater detail in the shirt creases with the side-flash effect ]

Thanks Big Grin . The best way to learn is to set your camera up on a tripod and do a range of test shots to compare - you would probably be able to find a better looking model - I live on my own Confused .
Try with a bounce card upwards and sideways and see what results you want to achieve - under-expose the ambient by one or two stops so you can see the flash properly .
Desmond, thanks for the video. I'm learned a lot from it.
