Hi there,

here are a few pictures from last weekend, where I was testing my 50 mm Nikkor with f/1.8 in anticipation of the arriving 24-70 (which I already have and is a blast).

Back to the 50 mm. Marvellous quality for the low price. This are my two kids and my girlfriend at the "Alte Donau" (Old Danube) in Vienna. Was a really beautiful autumn sunday .

Hope you enjoy watching them, those two are very cute and I guess as you can see, am a very proud father Wink)

Great shots, Belmont.
What shutter/apperture do you find works best for portraits on the 1.8D?
lovely photos!
and beautiful models you got there!!
i love kid photos! nice colors!
Nice colours! Very nice!

Thanks for sharing!
How much 'editing' was done, btw?
nice photos! Good use of fill light
Hi all,

thx for the nice comments. My kids resemble my best work done in my life Wink)

All pictures are straight from NX2, not much editing (maybe contrast +1) , manual WB, no post-sharpening (camera sharpening settings: 3/10). The lens is that crisp, wonderful.

The first picture was shot with high ISO (2000) because it was already quite dark outside. All other pictures have been made with a SB-900 with ABBC attached, just to eliminate most face-shadows. But I have to experience more with flashes and ABBC, I think there's more I could get out of it.
sharp, crispy photos... beautiful
What apperture on the 1.8 D do you find gives the best results in portrait sutations?
