There is always the Sigma 70-200.

Pretty much straight from camera. Only adjusted curve and cropped slightly

I'm looking at buying a 70-200 vr 2nd hand, anything to look out for when getting one?
I have not heard of any common problems with the 70-200VR so probably just the normal things like make sure AF and VR are working properly, no front/back focus problem, glass is reasonably clean, lens body is in good shape?
Keep an eye out for dust if you are looking at buying second hand. I think that goes for all lenses.

You can do the 'torch test' and flash the light through to see if any dust or oil on the aperture blades. Scratches on the body etc.
Also check for haze and mould.
