This weekend we have the Lantern Festival here in Auckland which is part of the Chinese new year celebration.
The organisers are expecting more than 150000 people to visit this year, which is a lot for a city which only has 1.5 million population. Our whole family went there last night. I got my camera with me, but there were just too many people and i need to stick with my family closely so i only managed to take a few photos

All photos were handheld and took with my D700 + 70-200mm VR (except no.1 which was shot my fisheye lens) ISO between 1600-6400.

NICE SHots. I like the one with the kid bouncing up and down! Very nice!!! How high did you go with the ISO and what lens did you use?

I like them!
thanks!
ISO was between 1600 - 6400
i used my trusty 70-200mm f/2.8 VR for all the shots except #1 (fisheye)

Actually i got a few lenses with me but didn't get chance to swap lens at all :/
I am finding that I use my 70-200 the most for outdoor events, sports and even landscape. I also feel that I keep running out of reach, do you feel like that?

Images looks really clean, not much noise. Great job!
70-200 very long zoom already CTM!!!! Tongue
I really like the last shot with the old man. I feel the lighting hitting him a little more than everyone else is a real PLUS. Like the one with the kid on the bungy thing as well. Very impressed that you got the nice blur and the kid sharp!! Must be all the panning practice shooting cars!
yes i like the last shot too.
I'm still trying to train myself to discover the more interesting but small things from street scene. This is definiately an area i want to improve.
