Switch to Nikon from Canon......
I've just watched the first video.
I really agree with reason #3. Nikon's spot metering even on the entry model DSLR is really a lot better than Canon unless you are using a 1D or 1Ds. I'm really surprised that the 5D, 5DII and 7D still doesn't have movable spot metering point.
I'm assuming he's mainly comparing D700 with 5D Mk2?
Anyway, i was a bit bored this afternoon so i watched all 3 videos.
I agree with some of his points but I also thinks he exaggerated some of his points

My comments:

#1 high ISO performance. Yes the current generation full frame Nikon camera are just a lot better in high iso noise. Trade off is the lower resolution

#2 White balance. Not so sure, but i don't think Nikon's auto WB is superior to Canon. Some people prefer the Canon auto WB more. I think they are just different.

#3 Spot metering. Oh definitely. i still don't know why Canon only has spot metering link to AF point on their 1D/1Ds cameras while Nikon has it on every single DSLR even the old entry model like the D50.

#4 Autofocus system. Yes, there is simply no comparison. 5D Mk2 is basically the same old 5D AF system which was not really the best AF system even when 5D was released. If you shoot something that moves, just the autofocus system alone will make you pick a D700 instead of the 5D Mk2.

#5 Metering System. Yes i believe Nikon's 1005-pixel RGB metering sensor with the onboard database of over 30000 images is a lot more advance than Canon's 35 zone mono SPC. But i personally won't consider this alone is a big enough reason to consider one camera over the other.

#6 Faster fps. If you take action shoots, then the D700's 8fps (with grip) definitely gives you a lot more advantage over 5D Mk2's 3.9fps.

#7 Better build quality and weather shield. Definitely. I guess this is a universally agreed statement that the D700 build quality is just a level above the 5D Mk2. And if you shoot outdoor, there are lots of reports that the D700 can be used under almost any condition while the 5D mk2 can't really stand the similar bad weather condition

#8 More adjustablitly. Not too sure. But I'm really impressed by how adjustable the D700 is.

#9 UI Menu. Not sure what he means to be honest. Even though I personally perfer the nikon UI menu, but this is completely a personal perference. And i'm sure you can get used to any menu system after using the same camera for a while.

#10 Better lens quality. Don't really agree. While there are some Nikon lenses which are simply unmatched in picture quality, Canon also has a lot of lens that Nikon users can only dream of.

But i'm surprised he didn't mention the following points:

- the nikon flash system. Not only it's a lot more advanced than the Canon flash system. The built-in flash on most of the Nikon DSLRs which can be used as a CLS commander which is a big plus.

- Almost any Nikon lens can be used on the D700 even the one from 1950 or 1960s. While Canon lenses before mid 1980s and the new EF-S lenses used a completely different mount and cannot be used on the full frame Canon DSLRs.
