Hey guys,

Anyone got the Sigma 30mm? I'm on a 1.6 Crop and I'm thinking of this lens as my next lens purchase. I'm finding the 50mm f1.8 to be a lil too tight for "at the dinner table" type shots.

Bare in mind that I'm a dirty Canon user and the only other Canon alternatives are either way too expensive, a lot wider or just low quality and slower. A f1.4 for just under $900 seems like a good proposition to me.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this lens?
i heard that as long as you got a good copy then it's a very good lens
the sigma 30mm is a very good value for money lens. very good picture quality.
the only major concern is that focusing problem, following Sigma's tradition for their fast lenses , many users have experienced inaccurate (either front or back) focusing problem... and from what i've read, Sigma's focusing problem is even more serious on Canon cameras than Nikon cameras.
so i would say if you buy one, buy it form a shop that you can test it properly
Yeah i had a play with one at the store and it seemed fine on the general focusing. I guess it's a case of making sure the one I want to buy focuses right.

Cool. All I have to do now is save up the money... O.o
