This is a very good read.
It shows you how much attention the designer has put into when designing a new camera. It's not just all about the specs. All the little touches matters.
The first time i pick up a D700 and take a photo. i immediately noticed how much difference there are between the D700 and my D200 , that is even before i see the photo. The build quailty and design of D200 isn't bad at all. But the D700 is just on another level. It's something you can't see on the spec sheet and only can appreciate when you start actually holding the camera on your hand and using it.

I have to say, the D700 isn't a grade below the D3, its actually just like a D3 just in a different package for different shooters.
They spent alot of time on every aspect of the camera, including the sound! I have to say, it sounds pretty cool!
