haaa actually that's a very good question.
135 DC f/2 is one of the best quality portrait lens, and 28-300 VR is one of those lens you find on tourist cameras. Two very extreme isn't it?

Well there are a few lenses on my "to buy" list...
1 135 DC F/2
2 a long zoom lens that is longer than 200mm (for street photography)
3 a walk around lens (for taking photos of my daughter as i can't carry too many camera gear when going out with the family)
4. a super wide angle lens

and this is pretty much in the same order as how much i want them.

I want to buy the 135 first as this is the one i want the most...but the long long wait really dampen my spirit
And Nikon announced the new 28-300VR a few days ago, the sample pictures look very impressive for a 10x zoom lens and the price is also very good (less than half price of the Canon equivalent) so yeah i can use this one lens to kill two birds (my #2 and #3 shopping list) so yeah the 135DC just have to wait for a while now.
Ah well I see I had wondered how you had gotten from a 135 f/2 prime to a super zoom!

Yeah I was looking at the details of the Canon one and it's very very big, heavy and expensive!

Fingers crossed you can get your 135 one day!
Thanks! its Quite tempting but price is really expensive :/
May be you should cancel your order and buy a refurb'd from Nikon store for $999

Shipping is free for orders over $200

Kiu
hey thanks for the link Kiu! the price looks great.

unfortunately i don't live in U.S. so they wont' ship to me Sad
I saw a 135mm f2.8 MF Vivitar for sale (second hand) for very cheap the other day.
Anyone had any experience with Vivitar glass before?
they are okay consider their price.
but since you have the 80-200 f/2.8 already, i say don't bother as the 80-200 probably give you better image quality anyway
Cheers, Richard. I suppose so.
Just thought it looked really cheap - around $100.

EDIT: Perhaps I wanted to buy it for you for Christmas. Big Grin
