have you tried the reset button?

Perhaps consider having it checked out by Nikon.
Could be a broken shutter, I fear.

Yeah that's what I fear also, reset button pressed with no luck, both my sisters are pro's and that was the opinion, so off to Nikon it goes... I wanted a new D90 anyhow.... Good excuse right... thanks for all the advice, it is very appreciated. Thanks, oh and this forum is great!

This is a very helpful little place, imho.

hm if reset and all the other tricks don't work. then yeah you probably need a visit to Nikon.

oh btw, the replacement for D90 should be coming out quite soon
