Just saw this on NikonRumours:
"BCNranking got their stats for 2010 (January-June) and Nikon is #1 by market share for sales of interchangeable DSLR lenses:

nikon ranking 2010 Nikon #1 (From 2009 31.4%->34.0%)
Canon moved to #2 by loosing almost 8% compared to 2009 (From 2009 39.1%->31.4%)

For the same period, the best selling DSLR camera is the Nikon D90 (total of 3 Nikon DSLRs in the top 5)"

I don't really understand. Nikon has no new camera (only the facelift s models) released for quite a while. While Canon has released a few great brand new cameras like 7D, 550D. But Canon's sale drop and Nikon sale up?

And the 2 year old D90 is still top selling camera?

I would have thought Nikon's sale would have dropped to bottom low at the moment and won't bounce back until they release the next generation cameras.

Excellent news!
Good news.

Maybe alot of Canon users are switching over ? But the D90 is a fantastic camera and is very well priced.

Does this mean that Nikon lenses have appreciated? hehehe
it means Nikon can increase the price of their lenses even more as they can't make them fast enough ... ouch

but really i'm surprised the Nikon share % is up not down.. Canon has released quite a few very nice cameras in the last few months and Nikon got nothing new for a long long time.
go nikon go!
