You are still relying on too much ambient thats why you have to change location and high ISO.
This set is much better compared to the last one though.

Remember for stuff like this, you will use flash for your entire exposure.... ambient condition has nothing to do with it. If it is under exposing, adjust your flash output rather than ISO. For this setup, when you take a shot with all flashes turned off, the picture should be very very dark or almost black.
thanks DRAW, i will have another go next week. owe you a drink Big Grin
bring your setup to my place next week and we have a play together
as DRAW said, you are still reply on the ambient lighting if you find you have to increase ISO or do something similar to increase the exposure.
Also the aperture value is still too small as well. So your "product" is not completely in focus.

Normally i would set my shutter to around 1/100s or faster, ISO 200 (my camera's base ISO) and aperture to around f/8-f/11 to start with. At this setting, you should get an almost completely black picture if you don't use flash. Then you add flash to light up the scene.

Your flash should give you a more 3D effect, if not, you are not placing your flash at optimum position/direction
Here are some food menu photos i did last week for a Japanese restaurant.
Photo

Nothing really fancy just two SB600 with soft box one at each side remotely triggered by on camera SB900 in CLS Commander mode.
If i turn off the flash, then i only get a black picture
mmmmm, interesting.

thank you for Captain and Yellow's comments.

Captain: i will bring the gear to your house next week.

Yellow. thank you for your explanation, the food look nice though Big Grin
Who's Captain?
I got some feedbacks from a few members, saying this thread become a bit hard to follow with multiple photos and comments happening at the same place.

Do you guys want to see this splitted so each photo would have it's own thread (probably with the word C&C or something in the topic name)? or rather to have everything under this one big thread? I would like to hear some more feedbacks from you guys.
I'd say - keep it one thread. Just my 2 cents.
Can always refer to the post number on the right! I think until lots of people are posting up photos it's not necessary to have individual threads
