The cloud and sky is amazing!
i think it looks quite cool! the sky looks amazing! cloud is so dramatic and very 3D
i would mask out the buildings in city and make them a bit brighter.
Probably crop the bottom most a bit to remove that green Previa which is quite distracting at the moment
But overall i think it's very nice HDR photo!
^thanks for the comments guys.

Yellow, you're right about the green van. Very distracting!

Technique - Wrong camera setting. For product photography, the subject will be entirely lit by flash, therefore there is no need for such high ISO settings, also your aperature is too big causing a shallow depth of field which explains why your image looks soft and blurry. Always adjust your flash position and flash power for product photography instead of playing with your shutter speed or ISO. For your situation, my base setting for the camera would be ISO 100, f8 or above, shutter speed can be kept at 1/160.

Composition - The composition of the boxes are average, I like the composition of #2 the most, but watch out for your horizons, as all of your photos are a little tilted and watch how you angle your lens.

Lighting - The flash is poorly lit, causing several unpleasant shadows on the subject. I think what you were trying to archieve is a high key look, therefore you should have 2 flashes firing towards the background on on left other on right instead of firing onto the subject. If you set the flash correctly, the bounce from the background will create a nice wrap/rim onto the subject. The main light should be well diffused at the front on camera left/right depending on your composition, maybe with a bit of fill to balance the shadows.

Overall - Nice first time try, keep in mind about flash photography especially in a studio like situation. Always adjust flash power/aperature rather than ISO and shutter speed.

Good critique Draw.
OK new to the forum and this was taken with my Canon gear but still interested to find out what people think. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to shoot with my Nikon yet.

I USED A NIKON POINT AND SHOOT. THIS IS THE WINE CELLAR IN MONTICELLO. I USED PHOTOSCAPE TO EDIT. WHAT DO YOU THINK??
Nice Photo Jeff, i don't know what to criticise on your photo !

shutterninja: i like your first edited photo more. But the photo is a bit blurry? I'm guessing the shutter speed was too slow (not enough light there), so maybe you can try stablise yourself with something next time?
Great perspective, Jeff

The slight reflection on the dark stones add fantastic depth and character
Thank you both, it is one of my favourites but I wonder a bit if it was interesting enough. I think without that stone reflection it may have been a bit bland.

Shutterninja you have done a fine effort here. I have to agree that the original photo seems a little out of focus or blurry. Also removing large portions of your photo can be tricky and it shows in the wavy lines you have ended up with in the replaced flooring. This is really hard to do and you have done a good job of it, but it is there.

Of the two edits I like the black and white best as I find the colour version a little too warm. Plus with the slight blurriness in the photo it gives it a rather Blair Witch kind of feel.
OK I am not really a portrait photographer so any critique on this will be most appreciated.
