not that I know how high a D700 goes. Is that the full frame Nikon?

I would guess ISO12800, D700 has got a really good noise control and often if the exposure is correct, images shot at 6400 appears to be noise-free. The shot almost freezed the FAST ACTION Mika which tells that it is shot at a reasonably fast shutter.

This shot has got quite a bit of grain in it especially in the shadowed area, the hair, the face. So I say 12800, damn i am envy if thats the case...!!

very good observations DRAW yes i need a reasonably fast shutter (1/125s) to freeze my daughter's fast and unpredictable movement.
but no correct answer yet
