Do you shoot RAW or JPG? or a mix depends on what are you shooting?
For me:
when shooting for clients, it's always RAW as it gives me a lot more room to correct the exposure and white balance during post process.
when shooting personal photos, it's 50/50. Sometime i'm just too lazy.
I use to shoot mainly RAW or almost only RAW with Canon. But the JPGs that the D700 produces is just so so nice. If I shoot a portrait then I shoot raw. If I am just taking candid and travel, JPG. I find the D700 meters pretty well, no need for RAW. The workflow with JPG is much easier as well! I am lazy!
I shoot JPG because the size is just so much more convenient. i would like to shoot raw, but the size is just too big.
JPG, Because my computer crashes whenever i try to open a RAW Tongue
RAW requires too much work. Easier to shoot JPG.
That totally depends on my memory capacity. LOL...because I only have a 4G and a 2G. Often I am able to nail the exposure correctly so I prefer JPEG. The only time I have to use RAW is when the White Balance is unpredictable so it gives me more control during pp.

I dont like the shutter sound when using RAW. It somehow doesn't sound so crispy anymore.
does the shutter sound different when you shooting RAW? i always thought the difference between shooting RAW/JPG is how the camera saves the image from the light sensor.
this is really the first time i heard of this, maybe you can explain a bit more?

Sasim

When I go to shoot I use RAW.

When I go to visit some place with my girlfriend or something I use JPG.
RAW 100%. The way i see it, i spent $3000 on a camera so i'm going to squeeze every bit of image quality i can out of it.
