I had this one a trip not so long ago. I was just reading the review on the Velocity 9 and the comments regarding a heavy bag. I hate lugging that weight around, I don't really mind if its an hour or two, but a whole day, its really tiring.

So any ideas / suggestions to carry gear in a easier fashion?

I have thought about roller bags, but when it comes to stairs, uneven ground, not so useful.

My bag with just D700 + 50/1.4 and 70-200 and Tripod and sb-600.

I currently have a Lowepro Orion Trekker and that doesn't have a tripod holder which is a real shame. Because its so small, I can't fit enough in it to make it heavy.
i have the same problem too..

still haven't find my ultimate camera bag yet!!!
I find carrying tripods on bags makes it super heavy, probably because the tripod is quite far away, so it seems even heavier. I went for a 3 hour bike ride with my think tank and a tripod attached on to it, it was fine and my back wasn't sore at all. But walking around with the tripod on, can become tiring.
yes i agree. Carrying tripod on backpack bag is really quite heavy because normally they are position furthest away from you.
